Who we are
Girlguiding is the United Kingdom's largest voluntary organisation for girls and young women, with about 575,000 members including about 65,000 trained volunteer adult Leaders. Guiding is for girls of all backgrounds, abilities and nationalities.
Girlguiding enables girls and young women to develop their potential and to make a difference to the world.
The aim of guiding is to help girls and young women develop emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually so that they can make a positive contribution to their community and the wider world.
As part of Girlguiding we want to reflect all of the aims and ambitions of our national organisation and all the fantastic things it can offer. If you live in West Kent this site is a place for you to visit to find out much more about what we offer locally.
Kent West County Standard
At the hoist is the World Badge followed by the County Badge. The fly is divided lengthways by the Rivers Medway and Thames and crossing the Standard is the motto Be Prepared. Industry is represented by factory chimneys and an oil tanker; the rural areas by the oast house and seven oaks and the Church and State are represented by Rochester Cathedral and Castle. The Jubilee badge is on the Standard as it was dedicated in 1960: the 50th anniversary of Guiding.
Badges cost £1.35 each plus postage. County silks also available at 10p each.
